The Apostasy- Behemoth

I just ordered this CD from amazon.com last Saturday and it came in last night along with my Morbid Angel CD. I'm impressed, that was pretty quick. I was happier than a little kid on Christmas opening up my packages. The first one I opened and listened to was The Apostasy. I love saying it out loud to myself. I first learned of what the album was called through an interview Nergal and Orion did on Uranium. Nergal said in his cute little Polish accent "zis new album ees cawled...ze apawstazy." Every since then I've been saying it like that. haha.

I really love this album. It's dark, brutal, blasphemous and just amazing.

"Rome 64 C.E."- This is the album opener. This song is very sinister and...just kinda grim. It's a good choice for an album opener and really set the atmosphere for the rest of the CD.

"Slaying The Prophets Ov Isa"- This song has been my favorite since I first heard it thanks to illegal downloading. Hey, I least I paid money for the actual cd. haha. The thing that makes me love this song so much is the drums. Inferno is such a proficient drummer. I have dubbed him as the "octopus offpsring of Pete Sandoval." I also love the chaotic ending.

"Prometherion"- Again, I love the drums in this song. Lyrically, it's alright. Behemoth's lyrics are very deep and philosophical and go waaaaaay over my head. haha.

"At The Left Hand Ov God"- I don't really like this song that much. Maybe because my friends thought it was to cool to listen to it NONSTOP ALL SUMMER LONG. HOwever, before the overplayed it, I though it was pretty cool. I love the intro. They always do very creative introductions. Oh, the outro is so exotic and beautiful yet still brutal at the same time.

"Kriegsphilosophie"- I actually like the lyrical message of this song. There are no gods beyond human flesh.

"Be Without Fear"- I like the rhythm to this song. && the drumming. ok, I'll stop gushing over Inferno now. I'm not a fangirl, I swear! Also, I like the quote Nergal included in the note. (I so just rhymed lols) "To conquer fear is the beginning ov wisdom"- Bertrand Russell.

"Arcana Hereticae"- I like how the flow of this song. ha idk. Nothing really too memorable.

"Libertheme"- This song is alright, again I don't really remember this song much. I can't really relate to the lyrics because like I said it's all so philosphical.

"Inner Sanctum"- This song is really angry and brutal. Apparently, Nergal channeled a lot of anger and personal emotion in to this song. I love Warrel Dane's guest vocals on this too. <3

"Pazuzu"- This song was kind of demonic and I don't really like it that much. I thought it was creative how Nergal got the recoriding of the mnks onto the record though. You can always look forward to something creative and innovative on a Behemoth record if nothing else. Or maybe the only reason why I don't like this song is because I know that my favorite song is coming up next. =]

"Christgrinding Avenue"- This song is my FAVORITE. I'll say it one last time, I LOVE THE DRUMS IN THIS SONG. I mean really, Inferno must have like 10 arms or something. I love the flow of the vocals too. This song is way too fast though, it ends too quickly. I guess all good thing must come to a....speedy and brutal end.

Overall, this album was a pleasure to listen to. I'll probably never relate to any of there lyrics because their all about religion and history and people I never heard of. But, they are still one of my top bands and I love them to pieces. I say BUY THIS ALBUM.

9 out of ten stars.

Coming up: Review of Morbid Angel's "Domination", review of cKy's "Infiltrate. Destroy. Rebuild", metal survey and much more!

What this blog is all about.

So basically, I created this blog so that I can talk heavy metal with fellow metal fans. I'll review metal cd's, discuss the latest metal news, talk about metal tours and whatever else yous wanna talk about.

So, I just ordered some Christmas presents for myself. =] I ordered Behemoth's The Apostosy and Morbid Angel's Domination. I also order Infiltrate. Destroy. Rebuild. by cKy but they aren't metal so I guess that's irrelevant despite the fact that I just mentioned it. haha. silly me. So, as soon as they arrive I shall listen and review.

bye bye.
